Summer Drama Workshops

Reserve your place now for the 2009 Summer Drama Workshop programs. Summer Drama Workshops-2008 Pre-Registration Savings! Sign up early and Save! on our 2009 summer workshops in the arts for children, grades 1-10. Spend your summer on stage in one of our unique and creative Summer Drama Workshops. If you register by paying in full before Friday, January 9, 2009, you will receive a substantial discount off our regular tuition rates.

Please Note Before Enrolling:

All Park District camps and workshops have a non-refund-able registration fee. This registration fee is 25% of the regular workshop fee ($227.25 for Babes on Broadway and Creative Drama and $252.25 for Theatre Arts). If you drop out of the workshop, this registration fee is deducted.

Workshop Note:

To receive the $Pre rate, payment in full must be received by Noon on Friday, January 9, 2009.

Babes on Broadway Workshop Grades 1 and 2

If your children have an interest in music, dance and drama, why not give them an early start in developing their talents and creativity? Babes on Broadway is an introductory workshop in the performing arts. Our professional staff teaches daily classes in acting, singing and dancing. The workshop culminates in the presentation of a musical revue. Swimming and other outdoor activities take advantage of the summer weather, and theatre-related field trips and special classes in performance art round out the workshop calendar. Daily attendance is mandatory. No class on 7/4.

Creative Drama Workshop Grades 3-5

The Creative Drama Workshop culminates in a final "fairy tale" theatre production performed by our young thespians. Under the guidance of our staff, daily classes in music, dance and drama help them sharpen their talents. Scenery, costumes, makeup and props support their creative efforts. Master classes, theatre-related field trips, swimming and other outdoor activities keep the work-shop a well-balanced choice for active, yet arts-minded participants. Daily attendance is mandatory. No class on 7/4.

Theatre Arts Workshop Grades 6-10

Act! Sing! Dance! Build scenery! The Theatre Arts Workshop offers an integrated course of study in the performing arts. Under the guidance of Dr. Gregory C. Dennhardt, Northbrook Theatre Artistic Director, participants study all aspects of the theatre, both on stage and behind-the-scenes. A fully mounted musical comedy is performed as the workshop's final project. Field trips and special master classes are included in the workshop's tuition. Daily attendance is mandatory. No class on 7/4.
